Building on Success: LSF and Mongolia’s Ministry of Health Renew 5-Year Collaboration

Laurel Surgical Foundation (LSF) has renewed its 5-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mongolia’s Ministry of Health, reaffirming a shared commitment to advancing eye care services, surgical training, and healthcare access across the country. This renewed agreement builds on years of successful collaboration, including the establishment of Mongolia’s first public retina–vitreous surgical program, the opening of the nation’s first ophthalmology wet lab, and the training of dozens of ophthalmology residents to international surgical standards. The partnership ensures that LSF’s work, combining free patient care in underserved provinces with sustainable, skill-building education for local healthcare providers, will continue to strengthen Mongolia’s eye health system for years to come.
